Who writes Visit Meteora
Visit Meteora is an independent guide for Kalambaka and the rocks, not a monastery gift-shop page. We write for people arriving by train or KTEL who need dress codes, bus times and an honest two-day circuit. We are not the Municipality of Meteora and not a climbing tour.
The site exists because generic round-ups skip the numbers that actually decide a day: which bus, which ticket window, which closing time. Six active monasteries on sandstone pillars above kalambaka, unesco listed 1988 are the reasons people come; the fares and hours are why they need a guide that can be checked.

How we verify facts
City facts — names, fares, phones, coordinates — live in one config file and are copied into pages. If a number cannot be sourced, we write “check locally” instead of guessing. KTEL fares come from ktel-trikala.gr; monastery entry is cash at the gate (typically €5 in 2026 listings — confirm at the door). Check date on this site: August 2026.

How do I report a mistake?
